Criminal (2016 film)

Criminal is an upcoming 2016 American-British action thriller film directed by Ariel Vromen and written by Douglas Cook and David Weisberg. The film is about an ex-con who is implanted with a dead CIA agent's memories to finish an assignment.

Principal photography began on September 4, 2014, in London. The film is produced by Campbell-Grobman Films and Millennium Films. The film is scheduled to be released on April 15, 2016.

The film stars Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman and Tommy Lee Jones in their second collaboration following the 1991 film JFK.

Plot

The story of the right man in the wrong body. In a last-ditch effort to stop a diabolical plot, a dead CIA operative’s memories, secrets and skills are implanted into a former death row inmate in hopes that he will complete the operative’s mission.

Criminal is an ongoing American creator-owned crime comic book series by writer Ed Brubaker with artist Sean Phillips published by Marvel Comics' Icon imprint.

The series is a meditation on the clichés of the crime genre while remaining realistic and believable.

Publication history

The series began in October 2006, and ran for 10 issues.

Criminal was relaunched in February 2008 with a new #1, and an expanded format. After 7 issues, it went on hiatus and was relaunched again in October 2009 as volume three, subtitled The Sinners. However, as stated on the podcast Word Balloon, Brubaker does not consider the renumbering to be a relaunch but instead to represent each arc as being its own story. Following Incognito, each arc of Criminal will be renumbered and arcs will be broken up by other projects co-created by Brubaker and Phillips. The fourth volume, Last of the Innocents began in May 2011 and ran for four issues.

In 2015, a Criminal: Savage one-shot, available in a standard comic size and special edition magazine size, was released through Image Comics. A new one shot has been announced for sometime in 2016.

Criminal (Fiona Apple song)

"Criminal" is a song by Fiona Apple. Apple said that the song is about "feeling bad for getting something so easily by using your sexuality." It was released as the third single from the album Tidal in September 1997, and is Apple's biggest hit, peaking at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as #4 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. The song won the Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance at the 40th Grammy Awards and was nominated for Best Rock Song. The song was listed at number 71 on Blender magazine's 2005 list of "The 500 Greatest Songs Since You Were Born". It reached #55 on VH1's "100 Greatest Songs of the 90's.

Waste (play)

Waste is a play by the English author Harley Granville Barker. It exists in two wholly different versions, from 1906 and 1927. The first version was refused a license by the Lord Chamberlain and had to be performed privately by the Stage Society in 1907; the second was finally staged in public at the Westminster Theatre in 1936.

Plot

The plot centres around ambitious independent politician Henry Trebell, his plans for a bill to disestablish the Church of England and his fall from grace and suicide after his affair with married woman Amy O'Connell, who dies after a botched abortion. The title may refer to the waste of his potential talents due to the scandal, the loss of the disestablishment bill and the termination of Amy's pregnancy.
